Sly’s influence on me!

For over 100 years, we have been able to enjoy the movies, as both ways of fleeing real life but sometimes also educational but the fiction took a magnificent lead and is now one of the biggest industries in the world. Early on, Hollywood gave us actors and actresses such as Clark Gable and Greta Garbo and today, we have some household names like Nicolas Cage, Garret Hedlund, Olivia Wilde and Diane Kreuger. All of them right where they belong or at least on their way there.

The actors and directors along with the screenwriters of Hollywood Cinema is more powerful and influential than we can ever imagine and sometimes a movie comes along and changes our beliefs or how we look on certain things in life.
For me, one such movie was Rocky.

Sylvester Stallone’s performance as the underdog boxer given a chance of a lifetime, combined with such beautifully written characters was mindblowing. The first time I saw it, I felt a chill running through my spine (I still feel it when I watch it) and I knew that I had just found the love of my life. The movie changed the way I acted among friends and family, my interests and even my taste in music, and I’m still living my life basically the same way I did back then. Keep in mind though, that I was maybe 4 or 5 the first time I saw it, but the way it mooved me that day was more powerful and life-altering to me than my first real kiss, moving out of my parents house and receiving my first paycheck combined!

In short, I have one man to thank about pretty much my entire life as it is today! So from the deepest bottom of my heart and soul, I give the greatest of grattitudes to the one and only true #1 Sylvester ‘Sly‘ Stallone!

About hanktango

This is not a serious movie review-blog. I do not review movies in a fashion that certified critics would. I think about stuff when I watch movies, and then write about those thoughts I had during the movie. I sometimes also think about other stuff related to movies, like castings, sequels and a whole bunch of other stuff. Sometimes, I even think about video games and then write about that. The only thing that's really specific to my writing, is that I write to you in the same way I would talk to you about all this stuff. So please, enjoy my writings, and if you were to get offended by anything, I would suggest you unravel that bunched up pantyhose you have stuck up your butt and stop being so sensitive, because honestly... that's Your problem, not anyone elses.
