I would say that the movies have had a massive impact on all of us in one way or another, even if we’d like to admit it or not. How many of you out there have ever felt the a need to see a movie in the theatre rather to wait for its dvd-release? Or have you ever thougt to yourself or said to a friend right after seeing a new movie for the first time, that you can’t wait for the sequel? This is.just some of the many ways a movie could/and have impacted my life and I’m sure a lot of you feel excactly the same way.
The movies have been around for a longer time than any one of us and they’ll be around for even longer still, and we welcome them gladly, for the simplest of reasons. They represent everything we want to have or we want to be but at the same time,on some level, we know it’s something we can never achieve, thus giving us hope and the courage and motivation to at least try to be all we can be.
Let’s not forget one of the most powerful tools of cinema; The music! How many of you out there stomped their feet to the rythm of Danger Zone? Felt the urge to work out every time you heard Eye of The Tiger play on the radio or felt a chill running down your spine when the theme for The Rock faded in during the movie’s epic conclusion? Or have you ever watched a scary movie without the ominous score? Imagine “Bruce” approaching without that infamous ‘duuh-dumm’. It’s not even a little bit scary.
There’s these little things that sticks with us and remain somewhere in our minds, giving us something to talk about or, as in my case, helps us figure out what we want to do with our lives.
