Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel pt.3 – Lois Lane and Perry White

Here we are again, giving the inner-nerds a dose of what it needs. Superman, or rather the Man of Steel, part three. This time, I thought I’d talk a bit about the latest incarnations of Lois Lane and Perry White. And as the gentleman I am, it’s ladies first!

Lois Lane, this time around being portrayed by none other than the rocket-sensation that she is, Amy Adams, who is once again finding herself in the midst of a DC/Superman-universe (having been in Smallville and all). I have to say, at first I was pretty distant to the casting-choice, feeling that she is to pretty to give the character justice, but I was dead wrong on that one. Adams’ Lane was just as good as any earlier incarnations, if not even better and I do hope that she stays as pure for the next one.

However, the Lois Lane-part of the story as a whole was a disappointment to me. As it always has been, she had that ‘Is Clark Superman?’-suspicions but it never really takes hold, always leaving her right back at  the ‘No, he can’t be’-conclusions, but here… no, it just feels wrong for her to know who he is already.

Man of Stel kissOtherwise, it was okay, not great, but Okay. And the kiss was pretty intense too, I have to say… felt almost kind of awkward and giggly when I saw it.

And then there was Perry White, here portrayed by Laurence Fishburne, an immensely talented actor in his own right and I feel that he was really under-used in this movie. Sure, I’m not AT ALL fond of the fact that ever since the U.S got a black president, they make already long-lived characters black. Why? Perry White have been a Caucasian male for as long as he have existed, so why the hell would they go and make him African-American? It just doesn’t make any sense to me.

With that said, I loved him as Perry White and I feel that the man was severely under-used and I strongly suggest that they make his part in the next one a lot bigger. Make him a more important character to the story, so Mr. Fishburne can show us what he can do with it properly!

Well, that’s all I have for you this time on the subject of Man of Steel. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading it as much as I had writing it, and I sincerely hope that you spread my words to friends and family.

And as I said earlier today, I’m back in full force, so there may or may not be another post later on tonight. You just have to tune in to find out!

But until then….. Make good choices!

About hanktango

This is not a serious movie review-blog. I do not review movies in a fashion that certified critics would. I think about stuff when I watch movies, and then write about those thoughts I had during the movie. I sometimes also think about other stuff related to movies, like castings, sequels and a whole bunch of other stuff. Sometimes, I even think about video games and then write about that. The only thing that's really specific to my writing, is that I write to you in the same way I would talk to you about all this stuff. So please, enjoy my writings, and if you were to get offended by anything, I would suggest you unravel that bunched up pantyhose you have stuck up your butt and stop being so sensitive, because honestly... that's Your problem, not anyone elses.
