Okay, so I guess it’s time to talk about some things that has happened around the geekosphere of late. It’s been quite a busy time after all. We’ve gotten some goodies from both Marvel and DC, with them both sharing their movie lineup for a few years, as well as a teaser for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, so why don’t we start right there….
Ever since I heard that they’d cast James Spader as Ultron I’ve known that this movie would kick some serious ass, but I wasn’t quite ready for it to look this badass. Sure, I’m not a hundred percent aboard with how they made hos mouth (and ….. eyebrows?) move, but Spader’s gonna kill it none the less. And the hulkbuster armor? Wow! There’s really nothing bad to say about this trailer, even the music is awesome. I can’t wait for May and see the finished product!!
And how about that Phase 3, huh? That was something spectacular in itself as well, I think. Sure, they hit us with the curveball that was the Serpent Society subtitle, but after it was all over, we were left with a fantastic movie line up including some new characters and a Great casting choice for Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman. Again, nothing bad to say here either. I’m really excited for who they’ll cast as Captain Marvel, though, but my personal opinion is that they should lock down Vikings’ Katherynn Winnick asap! She’s proven to be the substantially versatile actress the character requires And a compete badass to boot, so I don’t see anyone else donning the role. No, Winnick for Danvers!
The week before Marvel dropped this major bomb on us, Warner Bros./DC did something to up their game by dropping their lineup all the way through 2020. We all know that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is coming in 2016. After that, we’ll get to see Suicide Squad, a Wonder Woman-solo film and the Justice League (part 1) among others, including a Flash-movie, which will star Ezra Miller as the Flash rather than the CW’s current Flash Grant Gustin, which I just find ridiculous. Talk about making people confused. How about keeping Gustin on as Barry Allen and let Miller join in as Bart Allen instead? That way you leave the doors open for a joint TV/movie-universe as well as expanding on the mythos of the Flash. What do you think? Make any sense to you?
There’s a lot of other stuff going on in the world of geekery as well, such as the next installment of the Star Wars-saga wrapped its shooting, the CW’s Arrow giving a nod to the Sandman-series Death and a SWAT-team cosplaying for a children’s hospital but I just don’t have time to go over it all right now so this’ll have to do for now. BUT…. if you tune in again later this week, I’ll have a few new reviews for you to look at, but until then…..
