Boom, and Christmas was over! Just as fast as it came, it went, and it’ll be gone for a whole year. So what now? Hey, I’d say we just go back to business as usual, and what could be a better way to bounce back than to drop some thoughts on The Interview? I can’t think of any better ways, so let’s just get down to it…
James Franco and Seth Rogen, the Dynamic Duo of the 21st century. Or at least of the Stoner Republic. But hey, in my opinion they’re fantastic. Of course they both have lows in their careers but when the two pair up… well, it may not be cinematic art but it’s damn entertaining. Pineapple Express and This is The End are both two of my favorite comedies so my expectations for The Interview was pretty high. So what did I think about it, then? Well let’s take a look.
First off, the idea behind this film (an entertainment newscaster (Franco) interviewing Kim Jong-Un and an attempt to assassinate him at the same time)… yeah, that’s pretty brilliant if you ask me. Cheesy? Yes, but brilliant! The execution of this idea, on the other hand, well that’s just performed brilliantly as well. And as always, Franco and Rogen are hysterically wonderful together and I laughed more than I had hoped for. Does this make me a citizen of the stoner republic? I don’t know and I don’t care ’cause this movie was great. I loved it and I would say it’s almost as good as the two aforementioned titles with the duo. Tango’s Stamp of Approval, received!
What do I think about this whole Sony hack-debacle that’s been going on, leading to the movie being released digitally rather than theatrically? Honestly, I would’ve expected as much from a spoiled brat like -Un, but for Sony to release it on Xbox and NOT on the Playstation Network? What?! C’mon Sony, get your act together man!!
And there you have it folks, the first Non-Christmas post, post Holiday-a-Thon. The next thing on my to do-list is either Exodus: Gods and Kings or The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Which it’ll be, you’ll have to tune in later on to find out…. or…. go to my Facebook-page Tango’s Thoughts and drop a like for instant updates!
